Intent, Implementation and Impact

History at Springfield

The National Curriculum states high-quality history education helps pupils gain a coherent, chronological knowledge and understanding of Britain’s past, that of the wider world and how Britain has been influenced by the wider world. We aim to inspire pupils’ curiosity to know more about the past and equip them to ask perceptive questions, think critically, weigh evidence, sift arguments, and develop perspective and judgement. Studying history also helps pupils to understand the complexity of people’s lives, the process of change, the diversity of societies and relationships between different groups, as well as their own identity and the challenges of their time.

Below you will find our History coverage at Springfield throughout each year group and Key Stage. This aims to provide pupils with a breadth and depth of knowledge of British, World and Ancient History.
