Useful Information

On this page, you'll find a load of useful information, which will show you what we teach and when we teach it, as well as homework expectations in Year Six.

Home Learning

In Year Six, we hand out all of our homework on a Monday. The expectation is that the children complete a reading comprehension activity, a maths activity (based on their learning in class) and to learn their spellings. In addition to this, the children are required to read at home, to a parent or older sibling, at least three times a week - please ensure that their reading diary is signed. We can't emphasise enough of the importance of completing all the home learning tasks...especially as most of their skills are tested in SATS. To support all children with their home learning, the Year Six Team are available for 'Homework Club' each and every Wednesday.

Uniform, including PE kit

At Springfield, we pride ourself in our appearance, which is why we take uniform seriously. It's essential that your child has their PE kit in school every week - both for indoor and outdoor lessons. Each Thursday lunchtime, Year Six have the opportunity to work with West Bromwich Albion. If you are unsure of what is expected for the children to wear, please click here to find out more.
