During Spring term we have worked collaboratively to produce some wonderful moon buggies. These are on display in the KS1 corridor. We were taught how to carefully use the saws to cut our dowel and had plenty of fun decorating them. We also evaluated our moon buggies and said what we liked about it and how we could improve them.
We had a fantastic time investigating materials and their properties during Science week. Our theme was 'journeys' and so we needed to find the most suitable material for making a raft out of. We tested a range of classroom objects to see which ones would float or sink. We made predictions beforehand and had some surprises. We really enjoyed these experiments.
We were very happy with the Phonics INSPIRE workshop and were so glad that many of you could join us. We hope it helped to give you information on the phonics testing and on ideas of how you can help with phonics at home. The children enjoyed the morning and loved playing phonic games that they are familiar with. For example, sorting real and nonsense words using the minion bins and the pass pass bag. We hope that you enjoyed it and found it useful.
