A very warm welcome to you all.
I'm happy to report that all of the children have settled in nicely to year 1 over the last few weeks. We are already beginning to learn in a more formal way and the children are beginning to establish some early routines.
We are encouraging the children to become more independent and this includes making sure they look after their own belongings. We would like to ask parents to assist in this matter by ensuring that all clothing is labelled.
The children have also been given the responsibility of remembering to put their reading books and diaries in the changing basket if they have read their book at home. Some children may need a little prompt in the mornings to help them remember!
Each week the children will have a maths challenge, spelling list and a cross curricular website to explore as part of their homework. We would be grateful if you could spend a little time to support your child with their tasks each week in order to enhance their learning.
Thank you for your continued support in ensuring that the children are arriving to school punctually, ready to begin their learning. It really has had a positive impact so far.
Finally, as always if you have any worries or concerns please do not hesitate to talk to a member of the team.
