Safer Internet Day- Tuesday 9th February 2021
Today is 'Safer Internet Day' all children across the world will be celebrating the online world, and how to stay safe. So this afternoon's activities are going to be based around this year's theme which is: #AnInternetWeTrust.
First of all, read 'What is Safer Internet Day' and the 'Detective Digiduck' story to learn more about how to stay safe online. Then watch these videos: https://springfield-primary.primarysite.media/playlist/safer-internet-day-2021.
Then pick at least one of the activities from the Activity Menu to complete.
*The activities on the Activity Menu increase in difficulty and some have adaptations for SEND pupils. *
Below is a template to design a poster to show your support for Safer Internet Day 2021 (#AnInternetWeTrust). You need to fill the magnifying glass with ideas about how we can create an Internet we trust. This could be:
● Questions to ask when you are looking at information online, for example: Who wrote this? Why was it written?
● Words or questions we can ask to help us spot if something is reliable online.
● Illustrations of what a better, more trustworthy internet could look like. Or images of online clues that may make something seem less reliable or trustworthy.
● Pledges of what you will do to help create a more trustworthy internet, such as, “I will only share things I have checked are true.” or “I will support my friends if fake news upsets them.”
Take a photo of your finished poster, upload it to the blog, and in the 'Title' box, simply put #AnInternetSpringfieldTrusts.
