Lesson two

Following on from last week, take a look at the document (narraitve)below to gather your thoughts and previous knowledge about the last days of Jesus's life. How would Jesus feel through each of the key events? Are there any messages throughout the events? Alongside the narrative are some artworks in which may help your to organise your thoughts and see a real picture of Jesus during his final days.

Who do you think was responsible for Jesus death? Was is it Pilate, Judas, the
Romans, the Sanhedrin, the crowds, the soldier with the hammer, God,
Jesus himself? What are you reasons? Why did Jesus die? One significant reason Christians give is that Jesus died to save people and to rescue them from their sins and to bring them back to God. They explain this in terms of Jesus’ death being a sacrifice, giving his life for others, for example, by taking the punishment for sin. To explore this further, take a look at the scenario sheet and think about the questions and maybe discuss with an adult or write some answers down, to show you feel about each of the scenarios and how Joshua has sacrificed himself and think about what Jesus did too.
