SAFER INTERNET DAY: TUESDAY 8th FEBRUARY 2022
‘All fun and games? Exploring respect and relationships online’.
Safer Internet Day is celebrated globally in February each year to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and young people, and to inspire a national conversation about using technology responsibly, respectfully, critically, and creatively.
This year, your children will be taking part in this important event on Tuesday 8th February. They will be watching virtual assemblies, completing activities, a quiz and, most importantly, improving their understanding of the question: All Fun and Games? By exploring respect and relationships online, this year's theme will help children to understand their role in creating a safer internet, whether that is whilst gaming or creating content, or interacting with their friends and peers.
In order to support your child, we are sharing the official Safer Internet Day 2022 Parents and Carers Resource Pack, which you can find below. Just click on the documents to view or download...and please take the time to have a discussion with your children about what you can and can't trust online.
We have also provided a link to the National Online Safety website, where you will be able to download the app (free of charge). This allows you access to weekly guides about online safety, as well as a selection of free webinars.
