Wednesday 22nd April

9:00 - 9:30: PE Joe Wicks

9:30 - 10:30 English. Today we are going to have a spelling focus. I have attached below a pack of activities for the first few words on our list. You will need to practise your spellings, then find them in a wordsearch. After that, I look forward to seeing some of your super sentences!

10:45 - 11:45: Maths. TT Rockstars. 4 Rules (see below). Then have a look at the White Rose home learning page We are going to look at lesson 3; Tenths. Watch the PowerPoint video (I have just checked that it is working) and then there is a link to the activity on the website and I have also attached a copy below.

To keep our problem solving skills in top shape, here is the I See Maths link for you to enjoy I hope you are learning a lot about how to give and follow instructions clearly.

Over the next few weeks our project work will be based on Italy. We would like you to focus on a different subject linked to Italy each week. I have outlined the subject and some of the activities you could complete below.

ITALY - Week 1

Geography - Identify all the major cities in Italy and label them on a map. Write about the key landmarks you would find in the different places and why they are so important. Talk about the physical Geography of Italy (any mountains, rivers, etc)

There is also a great music/PE challenge I would like you to try this afternoon. There is a video link to a song:  and below are the details of the activity. I hope you can enjoy it with your family.

Captain Tom Moore

Hi Year 3

Some of you may have heard of Captain Tom Moore who has completed a 100 lap walk around his garden for his 100th Birthday to raise money for the NHS. He was in the army in World War II and wanted to help the NHS. His fundraising page has raised over £26 million which is incredible! I think you'll all agree he is amazing and an inspiration to everyone!

Miss Gough has let us all know that Captain Tom turns 100 on 30th April and to say a massive thank you and to celebrate it we would like you to design and make Captain Tom a 100th Birthday card.

I have added some pictures on my blog to help you with some ideas.. Once you have made your card make sure you write a message inside and then share a picture of your card on the blog. The address to send the card can also be found on my blog.

Take care

Mrs Ormerod
