We are pleased to welcome you to Year 2!
I am happy to say that we are all getting stuck into this term by exploring some interesting topics. We are enjoying our class text 'Oliver's Vegetables' which we have linked to the traditional tale, 'The Enormous Turnip' and the children have been retelling their own stories based around this text, using some fantastic vocabulary. They will also be exploring more genres by writing their own instructions, diary entries and letters. In Maths, the children are understanding how many tens and ones in a number and then are starting to use this method to solve addition and subtraction sums. Furthermore, our topic 'Hard Times' has given the children the chance to learn and explore all about history and we are all looking forward to our trip to the Black Country Museum.
We have some fantastic opportunities for the children to experience this year and I can already see their confidence and engagement with their learning growing.
As always, thank you for your continued support.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to come and speak to myself or one of the team.
We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead.
Miss Gough and Mrs Morgan.
