Year 1 Little Wandle Phonics Workshop
 

Springfield Primary uses the validated Little Wandle phonics programme to support the delivery of phonics in Reception and KS1.

To support the children’s development of their phonics skills and to provide parents with an opportunity to find out more about the Little Wandle Scheme and the Year 1 phonics screening check, in the Autumn term we invited parents to attend a phonics workshop in school.

During the workshop, parents received more information about the teaching of phonics in school, watched a phonics session taking place and played some phonics games with their child. We also informed them of ways in which they could support their child’s learning at home, as well as information about the upcoming phonics screening that takes place at the end of Year 1.
