As a school, we are on a journey to become a UNICEF Rights Respecting School. We will be focusing on the articles set out by UNICEF and incorporating them into our school values.
Our class charters help us make the right decisions to ensure our classroom and school are a great place to be.
We then spoke about the articles and decided which ones were most important to us in creating a safe, happy and enjoyable place to learn. The articles we decided on are shown below, and we have added what we will do to achieve them.

Article 2:
All adults and children in our class will treat each other with respect, free from discrimination. We will ensure everyone is included, no matter their ethnicity, gender, first language, family background, abilities or any other status.
Article 12:
Every child in our class has the right to express their views freely and openly, without fear of judgement. Every adult will listen to the wishes and feelings of children and will try to support them in any way possible.
Article 13:
Every child in our class is free to express their thoughts and opinions and to access all kinds of lawful information. All adults will listen to the views and opinions of children, acting in their best interests with decisions that are made.
Article 24:
Every child in our class has the right to the best possible health. All adults in school will endeavour to help us be healthy, from healthy food, medicine when needed and encouraging an active lifestyle in and outside school.
Article 28:
Every child has the right to an education. In our class, we will support each other by listening to the teacher and not disrupt the learning of others. Adults will ensure any consequences for behaviour are fair and proportionate, respecting children’s dignity.
