Transition into Year 6

Welcome to Year 6!

We are absolutely delighted to be welcoming our new Year 6 children this September! We can’t wait to meet you all, get to know you, and begin what promises to be a fun, exciting, and successful year together.

To help you get ready for the new term, here are a few important bits of information:

📚 Key Information

  • PE Days:
Our PE days will be Monday and Wednesday. Please make sure children come to school wearing their PE kit on these days. It should be black or navy tracksuit – NO large branding or logos.  A plain white or red T-shirt and suitable trainers for indoor and outdoor PE.

  • Attendance:
Excellent attendance is exceptionally important in Year 6 so children can make the most of every learning opportunity. We are proud to follow our school motto: “Here Every day, Ready and On Time”—and we appreciate your support in helping your child achieve this every day.

  • Drop-off and Collection:
Children will enter and leave the building via the stairs to the KS2 hall.

  • Children in Year 6 are allowed to walk to and from school on their own.

  • If you have any messages, kindly pass these on to a designated staff member.

  • Phones

  • Children in Year 6 are allowed to bring their mobile phones into school. These are locked away securely during the day. Phones must be turned off whilst on school site. The mobile phone policy must have been signed and returned to allow your child to bring in their phone.

  • School Dinners:
School dinners will remain the same, with the usual menu options available.

  • Medication:
Please ensure any up-to-date medication is brought into school on the first day back.

If you have any questions or need any support, please don’t hesitate to speak to a member of the Year 6 team—we are always happy to help.
