Year 6

Welcome To Year Six
Picture 1

Welcome to our Year Six page - this is the place to be!

Here, you'll find out about what we've been learning, what we will be learning, educational visits we've been on, events we've got planned in the future (as well as some useful tips to get the most out of your time in Y6) and (ssssh...don't say it too loud!) important SATS information, including links to websites and revision resources.

Take your time to look around - let us know what you like so far and tell us what you'd love to see on your Y6 pages. We've spent a lot of time setting up our new school website but we're always looking for ways to improve it.

And the winners are...

For the Spring Term, our school focus has changed for our celebration certificates. In Maths, we have moved from the children earning a 'Very Independent Learner' certificate to a 'Growth Mindset' certificate. In English, although our focus is still on reading at home, the certificate is now awarded for handwriting, making a conscious effort to improve presentation and use the school's new handwriting script.

So, without further ado, this week's winners are:

6S

Growth Mindset: Katie W

Handwriting: Phoenix K

6B

Growth Mindset: Brandon LF

Handwriting: Wyatt I

Year Six Updates:

Year Six Inspire/SATS meeting

We would like to invite all parents to our Year Six Inspire/SATS meeting at 9.15am on Friday 15th February. This session will be a combination of sharing information about this year's SATS test, looking at some example questions, whilst also sharing our whole-school focus on 'Growth Mindset' - and how it can be utilised in the context of problem solving in maths.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Just a quick reminder that we are still awaiting some returned, signed consent forms. We have spare copies available in school if your child needs a replacement.
